COLLABORATING WITH CASTING FOR RECOVERY
In 2021, I began one of the most meaningful collaborations of my career with Casting for Recovery (CFR). For those unfamiliar, Casting for Recovery is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of women affected by breast cancer. They provide free outdoor retreats that combine fly fishing, peer support, and medical education, offering participants a chance to heal both emotionally and physically. Their mission deeply resonated with me, and I knew I wanted to contribute in a way that felt personal and impactful.
In an effort to do my part in raising awareness for breast cancer, I came up with the idea to create special prints of my illustrations in pink ink during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. These prints would be sold, with proceeds donated directly to Casting for Recovery. The organization embraced the concept with enthusiasm, offering their full support.
The prints were made, and the amazing community in Bozeman rallied behind the initiative. It was heartwarming to see so many people connect with the cause and support it through art. This project became an annual tradition: every October, a percentage of proceeds from my print sales is donated to Casting for Recovery. What began as a single project has grown into a cherished yearly partnership.
The YETI Cooler Project: A 2024 Highlight In 2024
my collaboration with Casting for Recovery took an exciting turn. They invited me to design original illustrations for a YETI cooler to be auctioned off at their annual fundraiser [insert auction name and date]. This opportunity allowed me to combine my passion for art with my admiration for CFR’s mission.They granted me full creative freedom, and I set out to capture the essence of Casting for Recovery: the resilience of individuals impacted by breast cancer, the beauty of nature, and our shared love for Montana’s wildlife. Using pink paint pens, I created a detailed composition featuring a variety of Montana’s iconic wildlife, a visual tribute to strength and natural beauty.
The cooler, paired with a collection of high-quality prints, was a standout piece at the auction. Together, they helped raise over [insert $ amount] for Casting for Recovery’s programs, making it one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.
Looking Ahead
This partnership with Casting for Recovery continues to inspire me. It’s a collaboration built on shared values, creativity, and a commitment to making a difference. I am honored to contribute to their mission and excited for what the future holds as we continue working together.
